It is designed to quickly locate and secure large aerospace parts for high-speed machining, but can also be implemented into designs that previously required a standard bolt, the company says. The headless bolt uses a simple ball-locking mechanism and develops 100 foot-pounds for every pound of torque. According to the company, the system saves the time required to completely remove a bolt with minimal tooling interference.
