Hardware/Software Solution Automates 3D Parts Inspection
Master3DGage, a portable 3D inspection tool from Verisurf Software and select Mastercam resellers, integrates a six-axis portable CMM with the company’s 3D model-based inspection software to automate the 3D inspection process and verify manufactured parts directly to 3D CAD models.
Master3DGage, a portable 3D inspection tool from Verisurf Software and select Mastercam resellers, integrates a six-axis portable CMM with the company’s 3D model-based inspection software to automate the 3D inspection process and verify manufactured parts directly to 3D CAD models. It is designed to increase production and improve part quality.
The hardware/software solution is designed for ease and accuracy in finishing common inspections such as blueprint, in-process, incoming, first article and final inspections, the company says. It features a repeatable, three-step process for aligning, inspecting and reporting. Measurement reports are generated automatically to show whether parts are in or out of tolerance.
The Reverse software module enables users to collect reverse-engineering data based on existing parts, including complex surfaces, such as contours. Using data from virtually any measuring device, the software automatically generates surfaces, features and meshes, as well as cross sections. Users can digitize a surface patch, and then trim, blend, offset or extend it. Multiple tangent surfaces can be created from pointcloud meshes.
