With a runout accuracy of 0.00012" (3 microns) at 5×D, BIG Kaiser’s Mega ER Grip is designed to increase clamping force, concentricity, rigidity and balance at high spindle speeds.
The chuck’s design provides increased the contact length of the internal taper of the chuck body, reducing the overhang of the collet and enhancing performance, the company says.
The ER system features a high-rigidity body, a precision notch-free nut and an AA-grade ERC collet. ERC collets can clamp diameters ranging from 0.075" to 0.787". With the Mega ER Perfect Seal, coolant can be delivered through the tool or to the cutter periphery. Tapped holes around the body periphery are designed to promote precision balancing, and the system is available with dual-contact BIG-Plus (CAT), HSK and capto interfaces to ensure rigidity.
