Siemens Industry offers a CNC retrofit package that is said to economically improve productivity and efficiency. Based on the company’s Sinumerik 802D sl system platform, the retrofit service is suited for three-axis milling or true two-axis turning machine tools.
The Sinumerik 802D sl is an operator-based control system that combines the NC, PLC and HMI in a single, maintenance-free unit. Features include a 10.4"color TFT display; graphical support for machining cycles and simulation; a USB interface built into the enclosure for program handling and transfer; help screens; and remote diagnostic capabilities.
Pre-configured to meet the majority of current applications in the market, the package is a control-only retrofit that maintains and integrates a machine’s current motors and drives. However, a complete package with the company’s motors and drives is also available to meet specific customer needs.
