Precision Dormer offers the Hyperion premium performance line of solid carbide drills, an expansion of the company’s solid carbide drill family. According to the company, the drills’ point design and geometry combined with their multi-layer PVD coating provides a balance of toughness and wear resistance for prolonged tool life in difficult applications.
The drills are available with coolant-through or solid construction in diameter sizes ranging from 0.0118” (0.3 mm) to 0.7874” (20 mm). Fractional sizes and tap-drill sizes are also available. Both models are capable of drilling at depths of 2-3×D and 4-5×D, while the coolant-through model features 6-7×D drilling-depth capability.
