Appropriate for assembly automation and for handling weights to 45 lbs, Schunk Inc.’s Lirax-M LD is constructed out of an aluminum profile. This profile features integrated roller guides and is actuated by a linear motor. The linear actuator has a standard stroke length to 2,000 mm.
Modules are available in two designs. The user can opt for a signal-drive slide with feed forces of 50 to 300 N, or a twin-drive slide offering feed force ranging between 100 N and 600 N. The product is capable of acceleration to 70 m/s2 (230 ft/s2) and repeat accuracies to 0.0004", capabilities that can be attributed to the linear motor and roller guides.
