Beta LaserMike Inc. offers the BenchMike 500 as a solution for non-contact measurement.
Available in three packaged configurations, the system provides specifications including a measurement range of 0.025" to 2.0"; repeatability of ± 0.000030"; and linearity of ± 0.0001".
Because only laser light touches the product, there is no part distortion or operator influence to affect measurements. According to the company, this translates to users having the capability to measure soft, delicate, brittle, hot or radioactive parts.
