Leaders-In background

Ingersoll Cutting Tools’ T-Micro system features a two-piece design consisting of a sleeve and replaceable carbide inserts. Applications include grooving, profiling, chamfering, face grooving/deep face grooving, threading and back turning starting at 0.024" (0.6 mm). It is designed specifically for machining very small internal diameters. The inserts feature through-coolant capabilities and are available in grade TT9030, a submicron substrate with PVD-TiAlN coating.

A locating pin inside the sleeve ensures repeatability when indexing parts so that operators can return to machining without resetting the tool. The locating pin also enables operators to replace inserts without removing the sleeve from the toolpost. The sleeve features an angular clamping design to avoid interference when replacing the insert, and tool changes on Swiss-type and other multi-spindle lathes. The sleeve is available in a variety of shank sizes including 0.500", 0.625", 0.750" and 1.00", as well as 12, 14, 16, 20, 22 and 25 mm.
