Contour Snading Sponges

Leaders-In background

SoftTouch contour medium, fine and super fine sanding sponges are coated on one side with aluminum oxide abrasives. Micro fine sponges are made with silicon carbide abrasives. These sponges are said to be used to generate a uniform finish on a variety of materials like wood, metal, fiberglass, plastics and composites. They can also be used on primed, stained, sealed or painted surfaces, are washable and can be used wet or dry.

The contour sponges are designed to give flexibility for hand sanding and finishing, the company says. The sponge side of the pad is said to increase flexibility more so than conventional backed sanding sheets and its conformability helps generate a smooth finish in hard to reach areas and corners on metal furniture, composites and all types of solid surfaces. They are available in 4½ x 5½" x 3/16" pads sizes.

The finishes generated by the medium grit pad are P180/P120, P400/P320 for fine grit, P600/500 for super fine, P1000/P800 for ultra fine and P1500/P1200 for micro fine.
