The ProtoTrak EMX is useful for first-time CNC users or for basic knee-mill work, according to manufacturer Southwestern Industries. The conversational CNC is available as a complete retrofit package, or it can be integrated into a Trak knee mill.
Features include programming canned cycles, part graphics, math help and DRO routines. Users can program at a computer with the EMX off-line software or directly at the control. The unit comes with digital servo amplifiers and motors, precision ballscrews and a USB thumb drive for program storage and transfer.
