Milltronics USA introduces its SL-II series of slant-bed CNC lathes.
Milltronics USA introduces its SL-II series of slant-bed CNC lathes. Designed so that anyone can run them, they feature the company’s Series 9000 control, which can be programmed conversationally or with G and M code. The machines have roller guideways for accuracy and heavy cutting, and Yaskawa Sigma V servomotors and drives. The ballscrews are double-nut pre-loaded, pre-tensioned and anchored on both ends. A bidirectional 12-tool turret is standard. The Royal spindles feature six rows of bearings. They are permanently grease-packed and maintenance-free.
The SL6-II features 6,000 rpm, 1,181 ipm rapid traverse rates, a 6" three-jaw hydraulic chuck, a 2.2" spindle bore and a 17.5-hp AC spindle motor. The maximum part diameter is 12.4" and maximum part length is 13.4". It uses ¾" × ¾" shank tooling and has a maximum boring bar size of 1.25".
The SL8-II has 4,000 rpm, an 8" three-jaw hydraulic chuck, a 3.2" spindle bore, a 22-hp AC spindle motor and rapid traverse rates of 1,181 ipm. Its maximum part diameter is 14" and maximum part length is 20.7". It uses 1" × 1" shank tooling and has a maximum boring bar size of 1.50".
The SL10-II features a 10" three-jaw hydraulic chuck, a 3.62" spindle bore, a 30-hp AC spindle motor, 3,000 rpm and rapid traverse rates of 1,181 ipm. The maximum part diameter is 17.7" and maximum part length is 28.4". It uses 1" × 1" shank tooling has a maximum boring bar size of 1.50".
All models are available with programmable quill tailstocks, Renishaw presetters, lift-up chip conveyors, bar feed interface, parts catchers and collet chucks.
