Chipbreakers Enable High-Feed Turning with Good Surface Finish
Tungaloy’s FW and SW chipbreaker inserts feature a wiper geometry that enables high-feed machining while maintaining high surface quality, resulting in improved productivity in general turning operations.
Tungaloy’s FW and SW chipbreaker inserts feature a wiper geometry that enables high-feed machining while maintaining high surface quality, resulting in improved productivity in general turning operations. The wiper insert series includes two types of chipbreakers suited to a range of applications. The SW chipbreaker is suitable for work from finishing to medium cutting. Its geometry is designed to improve chip control. The FW chipbreaker is for finishing and provides low cutting forces and stable chip control. The grades for the inserts, which are applicable for various workpiece materials, include the CVD-coated T9100 series for steel turning; the CVD-coated T5100 series for cast iron turning; and the NS9530/GT9530 cermet series with high thermal shock resistance.
