The Benz LinA broach is designed to reduce machine cycle and setup times as well as costs, even for small lot sizes. According to the company, internal and external broaching can be machined by changing the style of insert and reversing the LinA spindle direction. Applications include keyways, torx, notches, spur gears, and ID and OD splines.
Three LinA models are offered. The LinA FS Radial offers a working stroke of 1.259" and speeds ranging to 1,000 rpm with 1,000 strokes per minute. The LinA FSS Radial has a shorter stroke of 0.669" with 1,200 rpm and 1,200 strokes per minute. The LinA Axial provides a stroke of 0.511" with 1,200 rpm and 1,200 strokes per minute.
