Automatic, Multi-Pallet Changer for VMCs
Midaco’s automatic, multi-pallet changer is designed for five-axis and standard VMCs.
Midaco’s automatic, multi-pallet changer is designed for five-axis and standard VMCs. This pallet changer is designed to load and unload as many as 19 aluminum pallets, one at a time, on a variety of machines.
The servo-driven changer includes pallets measuring 10" (245 mm) in diameter and 1.25" (31.75 mm) thick. Each pallet’s weight capacity is 75 lbs (34.05 kg). Locating pins are hardened and ground to promote repeatability of ±0.0001" (0.0025 mm). The unite integrates with the machine using M functions and is equipped with a dual air blast for chip removal. The cast iron receiver, which does not require pneumatics or hydraulics, mounts directly on the machining center table. The full CE enclosure has two drop-down-door loading stations (one on each side of the machine) to prevent pallet changes while doors are open.
The pallet changer adapts to a variety of machining centers with travels ranging from 12.75" × 10.5" to 160" × 88". These systems are said to reduce spindle downtime related to part loading and fixture change-over. The pallet systems can be installed on the left, right or both sides of the machine center to reduce floor space.
