Women in Manufacturing Hosting Annual WiM Summit

The Hartford, Connecticut, event is drawing hundreds of attendees, with more than 150 manufacturing companies sponsoring attendance by their employees.

According to Women in Manufacturing (WiM), more than 150 U.S. manufacturing companies are sponsoring employee attendance at the 7th annual WiM Summit September 13-15 in Hartford, Connecticut. Several hundred manufacturing professionals are attending to participate in plant tours, listen to keynote speakers, attend round-table discussions, network with peers and more.

The roster of attending companies includes 3M, Agco Corp., BWX Technologies Inc., Crown Equipment Corp., Dell Technologies Inc., General Electric, IBM, Ingersoll Rand, John Deere, MillerCoors, Oshkosh Defense, Pratt & Whitney and Rockwell Automation.

Connecticut-based manufacturer Pratt & Whitney was reportedly eager to get involved in the summit when WiM announced Hartford as the hosting city. “Working with organizations like Women in Manufacturing is a natural fit for us, as it allows us to network with a talented group of professionals who understand what we do and how we do it,” says Tara St-Pierre, Senior Director of Talent, Inclusion and Engagement. “With United Technologies, Pratt & Whitney is committed to finding and developing women in leadership positions through our commitment to the Paradigm for Parity Coalition. This is a perfect opportunity for us to work with WiM, a leader in this space.”
