The Reshoring Initiative, PMA, AMT and NTMA Launch Reshoring Award
Companies that have successfully reshored products, parts or tooling made primarily by metal forming, fabricating, casting or machining, including additive manufacturing, are invited to apply for the Reshoring Award.
Four manufacturing associations have announced the Second National Reshoring Award. Companies that have successfully reshored products, parts or tooling made primarily by metal forming, fabricating, casting or machining, including additive manufacturing, are invited to apply. AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology and NTMA (National Tooling and Machining Association) join the inaugural sponsors of the award, the Reshoring Initiative and PMA (Precision Metalforming Association), in hosting this competition.
To be eligible for the award, the work must have been reshored between January 1, 2013, and December 31, 2018, from outside North America to within North America. Applications must be submitted by January 31, 2019. To view award details and enter to win, visit the AMT website. The awards will be presented in Tucson, Arizona, March 8, 2019, at the MFG Meeting.
“In 2017 about 170,000 United States manufacturing jobs were announced to come back from offshore, up 2,800 percent from 2010,” says Harry Moser, founder and president of the Reshoring Initiative. “We anticipate that this award will motivate more companies to reevaluate their offshoring and see that it is often more profitable to produce or source domestically. We also hope that other associations will choose to support similar awards to show that their industries are now successfully reshoring.”
