Okuma Adds Two Sales Engineers

Brian Sides and Tom O’Toole are both veterans of the CNC machine tool industry.

Okuma America Corp. (Charlotte, North Carolina) has appointed Brian Sides Sales Engineer and Tom O’Toole Principal Sales Engineer in the company’s Sales and Product Specialist Teams. Both are veterans in the CNC machine tool industry with over 50 years of combined experience, the company says. Mr. Sides will support Okuma’s distribution partner, Gosiger. Mr. O’Toole will be responsible for the business planning, sales and support of double-column and other large-frame products such as the MU-10000H, MA-12500H, Millac 1000VH and the VTM/VTR models.

Mr. Sides joined Okuma in 1992 as an electrical engineer designing controls systems for the company’s machine tools. He is one of the original designers of Okuma’s open architecture OSP-P control. Having held several positions at Okuma, he has most recently served as director of technology. He will support Okuma distribution partner Gosiger.

Mr. O’Toole previously worked at Okuma from 1985 to 2002 as an applications engineer.
