Murata Hires Laser Applications Engineer, Fabrication Business Unit
Andrew Wildman brings 26 years of experience working with lasers to the North American territory of Murata’s Fabrication business.
Murata Machinery USA Inc. (Charlotte, North Carolina) has hired Andrew Wildman as Laser Applications Engineer. He will support customers across the Fabrication Business Unit’s North American territory.
Mr. Wildman has 26 years of experience working with lasers. For 17 of these years, he worked as a field service engineer supporting a variety of machines, including CO2 flat sheet cutters. His work as a service engineer enabled him to sharpen his skills with cutting applications, the company says. For the past several years, he has worked in the gas turbine industry with laser cladders and fusion welders using IPG fiber lasers.
He has this to say about returning to the field of laser cutting. “I’ve always been fascinated with the speed and precision in the technology used in laser cutting. When given the opportunity to work with Murata and its fiber laser, I just knew I wanted to be a part of the team.”
