Mastercam and Distributor Enter Partnership as WorldSkills Operator in Belarus
WorldSkills International presides over a series of international competitions to promote professional skills standards and vocational education worldwide.
CNC Software Inc. (Tolland, Connecticut), the developer of Mastercam, has entered a partnership agreement between Russia-based Colla Ltd., authorized distributor of Mastercam in Eurasian Customs Union (Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan), and the Republican Institute of Vocational Education (Minsk, Belarus) as the Official Operator of WorldSkills Belarus.
WorldSkills International’s mission is to raise the status and standards of professional skills and vocational education worldwide. WorldSkills is an international competition in professional craftsmanship. Belarus joined WorldSkills International in January 2014, becoming the its 68th member.
Colla’s Mastercam support and training manager, Yevgeny Dudukin, says that his company and Worldskills Belarus established a successful partnership last year in providing professionals and students from a number of Belarusian educational institutions with the capacity for learning the functionality of Mastercam before last year’s WorldSkills Open Championship of Russia and CIS as well as the championship held in São Paulo, Brazil.
“Within the partnership agreement, Mastercam academic licenses will be provided to the operator of WorldSkills Belarus in a quantity sufficient for holding the competition,” says Vladimir Vorzhakov, Colla technical director. “Periodic consultations, our expertise, training courses and technical support will be provided as well to help Belarus prepare its own Mastercam programming experts and trainers.”
