View MoreIn-Place Machine Company (IPM) announces the acquisition of Western Machine Works (WMW) as part of a long-term growth strategy to expand reach and service offerings to customers and prospects across the U.S. and Canada.
IPM specializes in on-site machining, diamond wire cutting and drilling, as well as alignment and measurement services. The engineering and precision machine shop services of WMW add to the field-machining capabilities and solutions of IPM, which the company says will benefit customers across a multitude of industries.

Based in Portland, Oregon, Western Machine Works is an in-house machining and engineering firm that specializes in the repair and refurbishment of large scale, precision components, including pulp and paper rolls, wind turbine main shafts, hydro-electric components and more. Founded in 1985 to provide precision roll grinding, balancing and general machining services for the pulp and paper industry, WMW provides engineered solutions to the wind power, hydro-electric, steel manufacturing, marine and other heavy industries.
The acquisition of Western Machine Works to the IPM Machining Services Division is the latest in a series of acquisitions by the company, which include the measurement and alignment services division of Oasis Alignment Services, Exact Metrology and East Coast Metrology.
