In a move intended to reflect its growing expertise and solutions for integrated industrial manufacturing, Hexagon Metrology has rebranded itself Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence. The company says that the rebranding places it in a better position to support demand for integrated, data-driven products and systems.
“Manufacturers need to work with speed and confidence, which is why they prefer integrated systems and single-supplier solutions that give them the process efficiency they need to compete and lead their industries,” says President and CEO Norbert Hanke. He adds, “We have moved beyond the isolated data capture of traditional metrology, enabling customers to analyze and leverage data for more informed decision making—sensing, thinking and acting, as we call it. We intend to focus our research on connecting these capabilities to offer customers a closed-loop manufacturing approach where quality drives productivity, as well as continuing to develop our core competencies in dimensional metrology.”
Recent acquisitions, including the CAD/CAM specialist Vero Software and statistical process control expert Q-DAS, have expanded Hexagon’s offerings into broader manufacturing technologies, further supporting the decision to rebrand.
