AMT—The Association for Manufacturing Technology and CECIMO, the European Association of the Machine Tool Industries, have issued a joint statement in support of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). Both organizations say they welcome the commitment expressed by the European Union and the United States to reach an agreement on the proposed comprehensive plan, citing the need to go beyond abolishing tariffs to provide concrete and measureable reduction to trade barriers. The two organizations see the TTIP as an opportunity to address the challenges of internationalization and enhance transparency in the regulatory environment for machine tool industries.
