The attendance figure represents an increase of more than 2,000 over the 2012 edition. Fifteen percent of the attendees were from abroad, a 3 percent increase over 2012. According to the organizers, 75 percent of the visitors stated that they are involved in purchasing and procurement decisions. Around 72 percent of these decision-makers attended the exhibition with specific investment and purchasing plans, a figure which was also confirmed by the exhibitors. The show featured 1,357 exhibitors occupying 105,200 square meters across nine exhibit halls.

Key topics in the accompanying program were “the machine of the future,” Industry 4.0, processing of composites and the shortage of skilled workers. Visitors were able to learn about career opportunities in the metalworking industry via professional competitions and other events.

In addition, the first European mathematics, IT, natural science and technology (MINT) convention took place parallel to AMB on the first two days of the trade show. This convention consisted of a conference and recruitment exhibition featuring 60 companies

The next AMB will be held September 13-17, 2016, again in Stuttgart.
