MMS Turns A New 'Page'

Here it is, a new year already, and I can hardly figure out what happened to the last one. Everything moves so fast these days that you never seem to be able to get everything done the way you want.

Here it is, a new year already, and I can hardly figure out what happened to the last one. Everything moves so fast these days that you never seem to be able to get everything done the way you want. Not enough people. Not enough information. Not enough time.

While we here at Modern Machine Shop can't do much to expand your budget or your staff, we do think we can help with the information, and with the time. To that end, we are very pleased to introduce MMS Online—a new extension of this magazine onto the World Wide Web.

We use this word, extension, because MMS Online is much more than a replay of some of our recent editorial. In it you can find a wealth of information on an extremely wide range of metalworking topics—and only metalworking topics—literally in a few minutes. That includes thousands of pages of editorial information, our industry's most comprehensive metalworking products directory in an easily searchable format, links to other important industry sites and a wealth of other information as well.

MMS Online is at once comprehensive and accessible. Are you interested, for example, in high speed machining? Do a quick search of the site and you'll find dozens of related articles on the subject. Want to find manufacturers of surface grinders? You can search the database in seconds to find an exhaustive list of vendors, with complete address information for each. Want to check out next year's show and conference schedule? That's there too.

Don't need the Internet in your business, you say? If so, we'd strongly urge you to reconsider that opinion, and not just because we'd like you to take a look at our site. You can do more research on the Web on many topics in an hour than you could in days through other means—indeed, research that would otherwise take so much time you just might not do it at all. And who among us can afford blissful ignorance anymore?

If you want to learn a bit more about MMS Online right now, see this article. But if you truly want to understand what the site can do for you, you'll have to experience it directly (by clicking here). And while you're in the site, please let us know what you think by posting a message in the "Forums" section. MMS Online's sole purpose is to be a valuable information resource for you, and we really do want your ideas on how best to make that happen.
