Leaders-In background

The cutaway model of an insert shows the channels for coolant delivery. The fountain-like display shows this coolant actually flowing.

Kennametal sees this product, introduced at the show, as an innovation comparable to the introduction of ceramic cutting tools many years ago. The company's "Beyond Blast" tooling uses channels within the inserts to deliver high-pressure coolant right to the cutting edge and right to the zone where the workpiece chip is being formed. Greater tool life and productivity can be achieved, particularly in harder-to-machine metals. The company offers Beyond Blast inserts in a variety of shapes, for both milling and turning.
