Leaders-In background

PCAST, the President’s Council of Advisers on Science and Technology, recently launched a Web site to gather public opinion on the Future of U.S. Advanced Manufacturing. PCAST is an advisory group of leading scientists and engineers appointed by President Obama. One topic it is currently addressing is advanced manufacturing, and it’s seeking input from people like you to help shape its recommendations to the president.

The questions are organized in these four categories:

● Development of New Manufacturing Technologies
● Support for New Manufacturing Firms
● Support for Existing Manufacturing Firms
● National Manufacturing Strategy

However, the study ends Tuesday, April 20. So while your voice can be heard, you’d better be quick about it. And if you’re comfortable sharing your replies with me, shoot me an e-mail and I’ll share them with the rest of the class.

Thanks to NACFAM, the National Council for Advanced Manufacturing, for bringing this study to our attention.
