It’s a Bird, it’s a Plane, it’s a…?
Well, we arrived safely in Chicago for IMTS yesterday.
Well, we arrived safely in Chicago for IMTS yesterday. It was a beautiful, cool, late summer day and the Bears were playing.
At about 3 p.m., I headed to my room on the nineteenth floor of our State Street Hotel. One of the first things I do when moving into a new room is to open the blinds and check out the view. Sometimes this view is breathtaking, and sometimes it's a brick wall. You pay your money, you take your chance.
So, I opened the drapes on my newest view and hanging directly outside, eye to eye with me, were two ladies in harnesses dangling from a rope. As I reeled backwards into the room, the ladies dropped from sight. This is not an everyday occurrence for me, and I had no way to explain what was going on.
Later, I found out that people had been rappelling off the roof of my hotel all day for charity.
It just goes to show, you never know what you'll find while in Chicago for IMTS.
