Iron Man Comes to Manufacturing
Steady camera technology developed for the entertainment industry is finding its way into manufacturing facilities.
While recently standing in line at a car rental joint, I saw this segment on CNBC (sorry, you’ll have to endure a brief commercial before viewing the video). It describes how a company called Equipois has adapted steady motion picture camera technology for use in manufacturing facilities. The company’s Zero G device can be used by assemblers and production personnel to make it much easier to maneuver tools and components.
It’s like exoskeletons for your employees.
Update 10/19/2011: By the way, the company recently received an Innovation Award from The Wall Street Journal. Read about it here.
