Manufacturing Happy Hour. For a chance to mingle following the show, Chris Luecke of the Manufacturing Happy Hour podcast is hosting his own happy hour on Thursday, Sept. 12th at 7:30 p.m. CST at Reggies' Rock Room for a double-header with two of Chicago's biggest tribute bands - How Rude! and LOUDERNOW. SELLOUT! 90s Vs. Emo Night Luecke encourages “eyeliner, flannel, skinny jeans, ripped jeans, jelly bracelets… whatever era helped define your personality for the next 20+ years, your throwback attire is strongly encouraged at this event.” Secure tickets via Reggies Chicago: https://www.ticketweb.com/event/sellout-90s-vs-emo-night-reggies-rock-club-tickets/13884373

Live Music. Chicago’s live music scene is legendary, and the city boasts venues that cater to every musical palate. The historic Chicago Theatre dazzles with its ornate interiors and hosts a wide range of performances, from concerts to comedy shows. Lincoln Hall in Lincoln Park and Schubas Tavern in Lakeview are beloved venues for indie music lovers, offering intimate settings to enjoy both up-and-coming artists and popular bands. Meanwhile, the Aragon Ballroom in Uptown stands out with its grand architecture and hosts shows that draw music enthusiasts from all over. Formerly the Morton Salt facility, The Salt Shed is an indoor/outdoor music venue hosting big-name artists along the Chicago River.

Jazz and Speakeasies. Andy’s Jazz Club in River North continues to uphold Chicago’s jazz legacy with its world-class performances and cozy ambiance. Reservations are required for all guests. A former haunt of Chicago mobster Al Capone, the cash-only Green Mill Cocktail Lounge in Uptown enchants visitors with its speakeasy vibe and top-notch jazz acts.

Comedy. Chicago’s comedy scene is second to none, with iconic venues like The Second City launching the careers of comedy legends. Zanies Comedy Club in Old Town and the Laugh Factory in Lakeview promise evenings filled with laughter and memorable performances, showcasing both seasoned comedians and rising stars.

Arcade Bars and More. Emporium Arcade Bar, with locations in Wicker Park and Logan Square, combines retro arcade games like Pac-Man and pinball with a lively bar scene. Near downtown, Headquarters Beercade offers a similar experience with a wide selection of craft beers and classic arcade games. Meanwhile, Fatpour Tap Works in Wicker Park provides an extensive beer list and pub grub, making it an ideal spot to unwind after a long day at the show.

Bars Near Downtown. Chicago’s downtown area buzzes with bars that cater to every taste. The Broken Shaker at the Freehand Hotel offers inventive cocktails and a rooftop oasis with stunning views of the city skyline. Meanwhile, Cindy’s Rooftop atop the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel provides panoramic vistas of Millennium Park and Lake Michigan, along with craft cocktails and a stylish atmosphere. Brando’s Speakeasy offers cocktails and karaoke, perfect for a night of sipping, socializing and singing.

Unique Experiences. For those looking for something supernatural, Windy City Ghosts Tour leads brave souls on a journey through haunted locations throughout the city. The company also offers a haunted pub crawl. Along the Chicago River, Mercury’s Chicago By Night 90-minute cruise provides live commentary regarding the city’s history, as well as alcohol, snacks and more for purchase.
