We encounter Bluetooth technology pretty much everyday. Now, Komet is using the wireless-device networking capability for its precision drilling systems, offering a few distinct advantages.
The company’s MicroKom BluFlex fine-adjustment tooling heads use Bluetooth technology to separate the adjustment display from the head. This makes it more convenient for an operator to read the data because the display can be positioned wherever it’s most visible while the head is being adjusted. The large numbers on the illuminated display make it easier to read the settings, too. By separating the display and tool head, the head is able to achieve higher rotational speeds. With integral part balancing, the head can reach 16,000 rpm. The display unit and the adjustment key with integral Bluetooth interface can be used for every MicroKom BluFlex precision adjustment head.
Komet is introducing this system to the U.S. market at IMTS. If you’re heading to the big show, stop by Komet’s Booth No. E-4239 for a demonstration.
