Sandvik Coromant’s CoroMill 176 profile hob is designed to reduce gear milling cutting time. The indexable carbide insert hob is available in modules 3-10. Designed for roughing, semi-finishing and finishing operations, the tool is suitable for both hobbing machines and multitasking or five-axis machining centers.

Hobs are available with standard carbide inserts for generating gear profiles in accordance with DIN3972-2. Custom options are also available for specific profiles. Insert grade GC1030 with multi-layer coating is offered for increased wear-resistance and edge-line toughness in ISO P (steel) gear-milling operations.
