Mastercam Software Improves Programming Flexibility
IMTS 2024: Mastercam introduces Mastercam 2025, with features including Mastercam Deburr for automated edge finishing, finish passes, mill-turn support for Y-axis turning and automatic license update notifications.
Mastercam showcases Mastercam 2025, the latest version of its software which introduces features and enhancements designed to maximize speed, efficiency and precision in machining operations. Mastercam 2025 is designed to advance productivity and sustainability in manufacturing.
Mastercam Deburr is a solution for automated edge finishing that is said to enhance the deburring process for Mastercam Mill, Mastercam Mill 3D, Mastercam Router and Mastercam Mill-Turn. Designed to integrate seamlessly with other Mastercam products, this add-on can simplify deburring through automatic edge detection and intuitive controls. Mastercam Deburr can enable users to leverage the streamlined deburr cycle in a three-axis environment without requiring Mastercam Multiaxis, intending to provide faster and more accurate deburring with less manual effort. For users with Mastercam Multiaxis, the familiar simplified controls can provide a simple transition.
This solution is designed to improve the efficiency and precision of deburring operations, as well as reduce the need for manual intervention and provide consistent, high-quality results.
Mastercam 2025 also introduces finish passes to 2D Dynamic Mill and Area Mill tool paths. The Finish Passes page can enable users to add high-speed finishing passes along the selected toolpath boundaries, with configurable parameters for feed rate and spindle speed overrides, aiming for a smooth and precise finish.
Mill-turn support for Y-axis turning is another addition in Mastercam 2025, enabling users to create toolpath planes with the correct tool orientation and spindle origin while taking advantage of advances in Y-axis tool technology. The A-axis contour turning tool path complements the B-axis contour tool path, which can extend support for rotary contour turning and enable users to machine difficult-to-reach areas with ease.
Thread mill operations in Mastercam 2025 are also said to benefit from enhancements such as speed/feed override for lead in/out, which can provide better control during entry/exit moves, promoting better tool life and more accurate machining of threads. The gradual lead in/out feature is designed to enhance tool control during engagement and disengagement for thread mill operations, while the tool edge feed rate calculates feed rates based on the tool’s tangential edge.
Mastercam 2025 introduces automatic license update notifications for software-based licenses. This feature can save time for users while keeping Mastercam secure with updated license information and features.
