View MoreUpdates to the Helicheck Pro and Plus measuring machines allow them to measure edge prep (also called the "cutting edge radius" or "hone") of precision cutting tools in addition to tool features such as corner radius, rake angle, helix, runout and K-land. The machine's 1,000x magnification camera and segmented LED light-which is mounted on its own swiveling CNC axis-enables edge prep measurement to a 0.0002" (5-µ) radius. Repeatability is less than or equal to 0.00004" (1 µ). The updated equipment, which is fully integrated with the company's QCM software, improves the machine's ability to measure other small features such as clearance and rake angle on micro tools.
