Third Wave systems (Minneapolis, Minnesota) and IMS Software (Haverhill, Massachusetts) have announced a partnership to provide the capability to model new machines within Production Module, Third Wave System’s machining modeling and optimization product. Third Wave Systems will integrate IMS Software’s capability to interpret CNC machining tool paths for turning and milling machines, including multi-axis milling and new machine controllers.

According to Kerry Marusich, president of Third Wave Systems, “This new capability allows customers to model forces, stresses and temperatures in difficult-to-machine metals on more components than ever before.”

Production Module will retain its functionality and core capabilities but feature embedded IMS software for better toolpath interpretation. The new modeling capability will be available in Production Module v7.0, currently scheduled for a fall release.
