TCI Precision Metals (Gardena, California) is reconfiguring its shop floor to better serve customers looking to reshore manufacturing. The company has consolidated its 105,000-square-foot floor, freeing up 20,000 square feet for value-added operations such as sub- and final assembly. According to John Belzer, company president, many OEM manufacturers are looking for assembly space and resources that are in close proximity to machining, milling and grinding operations, making the revised floor layout suited to providing the flexible solutions companies need to bring manufacturing back to the United States.
