Fives Machining Systems Inc. Cincinnati has named Harold Schoch as CEO. He is said to be a leader who is customer-centric, has touched every aspect of the machine tool industry and is passionate about the future. The company describes his deep ties and extensive experience in the machine tool industry, noting that Schoch comes from a long line of machine tool builders spanning five generations.
Schoch’s talents were crafted on the production floor, in field service and in various management roles. He began his apprenticeship with the American Tool Works Company in 1979. Next, he followed in his great grandfather George Schoch’s steps and joined the LeBlond Machine Tool Company, where he continued to sharpen his craft. He served as vice president of Re-Machine & Retrofit Company for 16 years before he founded family business Machine Tool Solutions Unlimited. In 2009, Schoch was sought out by National Technologies Transfer to coauthor a training manual for the Boeing Craft College in Auburn, Washington (which is still in use).
He is also one of five business leaders to sit on FANUC’s inaugural Authorized System Integrators Leadership Council and has used his relationships with Siemens to help Fives Machining Systems Inc. (Cincinnati, Giddings & Lewis, and Machine Tool Services & Solutions) become a participant in the Siemens Solutions Partner program.
On the future of the company, Schoch says, “I see us as the partner of choice when it comes to increasing productivity through our high-quality metalcutting machines, industry-leading fiber placement machines, innovative robotic solutions and our ability to rebuild and retrofit multiple brands of machine tools. Simply stated, we want to be viewed as an indispensible partner to our customers’ success and I believe the team that we have will make this goal achievable!”
