Taking Legos to the Next Level
Watch machining performed on an NC mill and lathe made out of Legos.
There were no Lego kits when I played with them as a kid. Instead, we just had boxes of the blocks, and it was up to us to imagine what we might build. The kits that are now offered seem to take imagination out of the equation, although it may be that they’re helpful in teaching kids to follow directions.
In any event, the unique Lego creations shown in the videos below clearly didn’t come from a kit. One is an NC mill and the other is an NC lathe. They were built by Arthur Sacek, who specializes in the development of LEGO models created for Brazilian schools.
Perhaps his next one will be an additive machine.
