CCAM Building Opening Soon
Companies will be able to participate in joint research projects at Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing in Prince George County, Virginia.
When Rolls-Royce opened its Crosspointe facility for lean manufacturing, it wanted to found an organization nearby that would take a lean approach to manufacturing research. The result is the Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing—or CCAM—in Prince George County, Virginia. Along with Rolls-Royce, companies including Sandvik Coromant and Siemens PLM Software share in research projects conducted by CCAM. Though various joint research work is already underway and has been for a while, CCAM’s new building will be ready to receive occupants this month. A grand opening is planned for March, when the building’s facilities are more completely finished.
