M.A. Ford has expanded its TuffCut XT Series 278 range of end mills with more than 400 new product variants. Featuring the company’s Altima Blaze coating, these five-flute, high-performance, solid carbide end mills provide high metal removal rates and are designed for use with steels, stainless steels, special alloys and cast irons in a range of industries.
Covering diameters ranging from 0.125" to 1.000" as well as metric sizes, the extended series provides additional lengths of cut, through-coolant capability and Weldon flats shanks as well as increased corner radius options designed to meet the needs of the aerospace industry.
Features such as enhanced edge protection, CNC-ground uniform tooth width on all flutes, face grinding on square-corner-cutting tool profiles and blended neck relief are all retained within the range from the original design, which enables the end mills to perform better and last longer than competitive products, the company says. These features minimize process downtime while maximizing productivity.
