Geometric’s CAMWorksXpress CAM package is designed for 2.5D machining that incorporates feature-based machining and model associativity to reduce programming time. The software is said to run seamlessly inside SolidWorks and includes high-powered features for efficient machining. It is available in 32- and 64-bit versions.
 
Other features include reduced automatic toolpath updates, optimized toolpaths, the ability to generate CNC code with a few clicks, automatic feature recognition, a library of post processors for a variety of CNC controllers, unlimited upgrade paths to CAMWorks, and the ability to import design models from common file formats such as IGES, SAT and ACIS.
